Machine Operator
Job Overview:
The Machine Operator is responsible for leading and operating a liquid bottling line in a food-grade co-packing facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of filling, capping, and labeling equipment while meeting schedule requirements and food safety and quality standards. The Machine Operator also directs team members on the line, manages workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Production
· Set up, operate, and monitor liquid filling, capping, and labeling machines.
· Perform changeovers and equipment adjustments as needed.
· Conduct routine quality checks on fill levels, seals, torque, labels, and date codes.
· Complete basic production reports and maintain accurate documentation.
· Communicate clearly about production status, issues, and needs.
Line Leadership & Oversight
· Lead a single bottling operation, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
· Direct line employees, assign tasks, and maintain smooth workflow throughout the shift.
· Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety policies, and quality protocols.
· Serve as the point of contact between line employees and supervisors.
· Foster a safe, positive, and collaborative work environment.
Food Safety and Quality· Adhere to GMPs, HACCP, and company food safety standards.
· Support sanitation and cleaning activities, including allergen control procedures.
· Monitor for compliance with FDA, SQF, and regulatory requirements
General Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED
· 1-2 years previous machine operation experience preferred
· Ability to manage workflow, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure.
· Solid knowledge of SOPs, safety, and quality protocols.
· Mechanical aptitude with ability to operate and adjust production equipment.
· Attention to detail with labeling and capping
· Ability to foster a culture of teamwork
· Strong customer focused mindset
· Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
